The distributor 20th Century Fox premiered the second trailer of Bohemian Rhapsody, the biographical film of the band, Queen.

The trailer lasts more than two minutes and records the history of the legendary band from its formation to its consecration as one of the most important of all time with the iconic Queen songs as a backdrop.

However, the video also illustrates one of the darkest moments of the band, in which Freddy Mercury, played by Rami Malek, famous for his character in the series Mr. Robot, refers to his diagnosis of HIV.

“I just need a little time,” says one person in the video to Mercury, who replies, “What if I do not have more time?”

20th Century Fox states that the emblematic artist’s illness is a central theme in the film: “While suffering from a life-threatening illness, he leads the band in one of the greatest concerts in rock history.”

The trailer also shows more about Mercury’s sexuality than the first movie trailer. Mary Austin is present, his girlfriend and confidant, and also records other intimate moments of the artist’s life in which he can be seen with lovers of the same sex.

In addition to Malek, in the cast are Ben Hardy, as Roger Taylor, Gwilym Lee, as Brian May, and Joseph Mazzello, as John Deacon.

The film that began filming on September 8, 2017 shows the rise of Queen since these four stars joined the 1985 Live Aid macroconcert at Wembley Stadium.

Specifying Bohemian Rhapsody was just as complicated as the life of the English singer, since the first protagonist Sacha Baron Cohen left the project due to some rumors that signaled the elimination of Mercury’s fight against HIV.

A few months later, director Bryan Singer was fired and the photographer Thomas Newton Sigel assumed responsibility. Although Fox contacted Dexter Fletcher to finalize the project.

20th Century Fox releases the second trailer of Bohemian Rhapsody, the story of how Freddie Mercury (played by Rami Malek, Mr. Robot) and his bandmates Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon, created Queen, one of the rock bands most emblematic of all time.

The film, which will hit Spanish theaters on October 31st, follows the vicissitudes of Queen in her uninterrupted success, reaching the top spot of all the charts while her sound constantly evolved. Through songs like Killer Queen, Bohemian Rhapsody, We Are the Champions, We Will Rock You and innumerable others, the group reaches an unparalleled success and Freddie becomes one of the most idolized artists on the planet.

It’s not just another day. It’s a special day for the life of Freddie Mercury. The singer and leader of the English band Queen is hours away from facing one of its biggest audiences to date. It’s 1985. The date is the Live Aid, the world charity event organized by the musician and activist Bob Geldof. It’s Wembley Stadium.

Freddie woke up that day as if he were one more in his career. At least, that’s how it is shown in Bohemian Rhapsody: the story of Freddie Mercury, the movie from which El País saw scenes as an advance in an event organized on Monday by its local distributor, Life Films.

For the Live Aid show, Freddie put on white Adidas; he put on a clear jean; a tight white muscle and a bracelet of buckets that she carried on her right bicep. For his portrayal of Mercury in the film, actor Rami Malek not only reproduced the singer’s attire, but also his movements. On his way to the stage, Freddie de Malek enters with a confident, charismatic and virile walk, but at the same time a little effeminate.

The five scenes of Bohemian Rhapsody, which were shown along with other premieres of 20th Century Fox in Uruguay, gave an overview of how the film directed by Bryan Singer (who was fired at the end of the shoot) will treat the life of Mercury and his passage through What in.

On the one hand, it will recreate with great detail the most known moments by the public: the grandiose presentations of the band live, in which Mercury showed not only a great mastery of his voice, but also of the audience that used to be massive. In those moments the film seems to yield more to the language of the videoclip than to the cinema. On the other hand, there are also the intimate moments in the life of the singer, who maintained his sexual orientation as a homosexual hidden from the public until the moment of his death, at 45, due to complications of AIDS.

The fear of the disease in the society of the 1980s is another of the topics that will be treated in Bohemian Rhapsody, as could be seen in a scene that happens in an essay and is decisive for the relationship of Mercury with his friends and colleagues: Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon.

Controversies aside, Graham King, winner of an Oscar for Infiltrates (2006) and producer of Traffic (2000), Ali (2001), Gangs of New York (2002), The Aviator (2004) and Argo (2012), prefers to focus on What struck him was when the project began to set in 2010. “I think Freddie had the right ingredients to make a film and, above all, there was music.” Queen’s music is a sister to people. you want to hug your neighbor […] I’ve done the story of Howard Hugues [in The Aviator], the story of Muhammad Ali [in Ali], Tony Mendez in Argo, and I had the same feeling with the story of this man”.

Twentieth Century Fox released the first ‘teaser’ of Bohemian Rhapsody in May 2018 and scored more than five million views in just 24 hours. But there were also criticisms, including those of Bryan Fuller. Like many others, the creator of Pushing Daisies and Hannibal, openly gay, recriminated that the advance focused on the singer’s relationship with women and did not address either his homosexuality or his diagnosis of AIDS in the late 80’s. story of someone who has been so iconic, you will always receive criticism, “says King. “Now we live in a world where people want an analysis of a 90-second teaser, I can not understand how you can do that and say that’s the movie, because, most of the time, the complaint is You’ve told the whole movie in two minutes, but you also get complaints if you do the opposite, and the press loves to look at the negative, we had 140 million views, and even the studio thought, “Wow!”In the audiovisual of two and a half minutes shows how Freddie gets to know Br…………………………………………………

In the two-and-a-half-minute audiovisual show Freddie gets to meet Brian May and Roger Taylor in Smile to join as a singer of that band after Tim Staffell left the main voice of the English band in 1970. From there the clip part towards the formation of Queen, the arrival of John Deacon, the rise of Freddie as a creative in the band, the experimental sound reach reached by Queen and the composition and recording of hits like Bohemian Rhapsody, We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions , until the Live Aid that marks the end of 15 years of an indelible band in the history of rock.

It also shows, and to give even more meaning to “the story of Freddie Mercury,” as Fox has called the film, the sentimental life of the artist centering several cuts in Mary Austin (played by Lucy Boynton) who was the couple and muse of Freddie and who told him he could be homosexual. In that sense also the trailer makes a nod to the subject portraying the singer with another man, but it’s just a painting. Will there be three fragments as Freddie would like it to be? It is unlikely, but we leave you the advance to be excited, sing and clear, give your point of view. The film will arrive on November 2 at the Colombian movie theaters.

Do you like the way Bohemian Rhapsody is taking?
