Follows a young African-American woman who, with the support of her family, seeks to clear the name of her husband wrongly accused and prove his innocence before the birth of his son.
If Beale Street Could Talk had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 9, 2018, and is scheduled to be released in the United States on December 14, 2018 by Annapurna Pictures. He received acclaim from critics, who praised the performance (particularly King), the
script and direction of Jenkins, as well as cinematography and music music. It was chosen by both the National Board of Review and the American Film Institute as one of the 10 best films of 2018 and in the 76th Golden Globes, the film was nominated for Best Film – Drama, Best Actress of Cast (King) and Best Screenplay.
