Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom Movie 2018
Everyone thought a Jurassic Park reboot was a daft idea. Okay, not everyone, mainly just me. But the series has evolved into a remarkable money maker, and a notable highlight on the release roster.
That could also ring true for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.
The sequel to Jurassic World still stars dinosaur whisperer Chris Pratt as he’s brought in to betray the dinosaurs on behalf of evil suit-clad bean counters. Blue reprises her role as last remaining and most adorable raptor, while Bryce Dallas Howard also rejoins the cast.
The trailer itself strikes a comfortable balance between frightening, funny and frivolous, with Pratt bringing the humour, while the special effects boffins bring the sharp teeth.
It’s great that the series isn’t taking itself too seriously, and even the camp Jeff Goldblum cameo adds to the clip’s levity.
Four years after the destruction of the Jurassic World theme park, Owen Grady and Claire Dearing return to the island of Isla Nublar to save the remaining dinosaurs from a volcano that’s about to erupt. They soon encounter terrifying new breeds of gigantic dinos while uncovering a conspiracy that threatens the entire planet.
Blue is one of the last dinosaurs in her species, and trainer Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) is tasked with saving her so more scientific tests can be run. That’s what he’s told, at least. It becomes clear in the trailer that there are more nefarious reasons for rescuing Blue. Dinosaurs on their own may be dangerous, but carnivorous, man-eating-machines are much more frightening when they’re being controlled by organizations with bad intentions.
